Mission of the attached school

From the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology: The four missions of schools affiliated with national universities
Tokyo Gakugei University is a university that plays a key role in the training of teachers at national universities. As an affiliated school, our school has four missions.

  1. Educational practice research
Currently, we are implementing the educational philosophy of the IB (International Baccalaureate) under the theme of “cultivating the ability to live in a global society.”
  2. Teacher training (teaching practice)
Every year, from early September to mid-October, students from Tokyo Gakugei University conduct teaching training. In total, more than 150 trainees will work hard on educational practical research at Oizumi Elementary School.
  3. Public education
While conducting research and practice, my first priority is the “healthy growth of children.” Through a variety of events that emphasize experience, we aim to develop intellectual ability, physical strength, and a rich spirit.
  4. Collaborative education and research promotion with local public schools
We also actively participate in training sessions in the Oizumi area of Nerima Ward. Through collaboration with local schools, we aim to be an open school and a school that can contribute to educational practice research.
